Thank You Cards

During our travels I take a lot of pictures. They just sit, lonely on my computer and have been begging to be shared. After looking through them I decided to create some moo postcards and include them as thank you gifts to my customers.

Have you ever used Moo to create business cards?  Well if not, let me tell you they are the best thing since birthday cake (and you thought I would say sliced bread...)

For one price you can get quantities that included being able to print a different photo on each and every card.  This is what I did with my postcards.  I received them the other day and now I wish I had printed two of each card, so that I could keep one for myself....I love them!

They are post card size and would fit nicely in a small frame.  The quality is excellent and even though I'm a bit biased the pictures are beautiful. They would look lovely in almost any setting.

I'm going to get some others printed for another idea and I'll let you know how that works out.

Pittock Mansion Portland Oregon

The Pittock Mansion was home to Portland pioneers Henry and Georgiana Pittock from 1914 to 1919. During the late 1800s and the early 1900s, their lives and work paralleled the growth of Portland from a small Northwest town site to a thriving city with a quarter million population.

They began planning and designing their new home in 1909. The mansion was completed in 1914, replete with stunningly progressive features including a central vacuum system, intercoms, and indirect lighting. The house also creatively incorporated Turkish, English, and French designs. In keeping with their loyalty to their home state, the Pittocks hired Oregon craftsmen and artisans, and used Northwest materials to build the house. The final estate included the mansion, a three-car garage, a greenhouse, and the Italianate gate lodge servants’ residence, all situated on 46 acres of land almost 1,000 feet above downtown Portland.

Hello

Staircase to the upper floor.

Art exhibit on the lower level, some very interesting pieces.

Interesting shower installations. The second one looks a bit scary...

Ornate sewing table

We visited the mansion last fall while we were in Portland. What a beautiful place and splendid views! Coming from Phoenix it was such a joy to see all of the green and gardens. This home transports you back to a time that you only read about in history books.

If you want more information about this historical home, visit Pittock Mansion. When you visit Portland you should make a stop here and walk around. It's about a half day diversion.

Sign Obsession While Traveling

Yep, it's back again...signs. Glad you are so patient with my obsession. You don't realize how many other shots I have from other travels, at some point I will share those as well. These were all taken in Arizona the day we (me) decided that finding the best root beer around was a good idea.

These never turn out to be the best shots, since we are driving as I take pictures. We probably would never get to our destination if I made D stop every time I needed/wanted to take a photo.

I hope signs like this stay preserved for a long time since they take you back to another era. One of these evenings I'm going to drive around Phoenix at night and get pictures of the ones around here lit up.

Signs of Travel!

I seem to have an obsession with taking pictures of signs as we drive through towns. This is the latest collection I took traveling through Arizona on our way to New Mexico. Enjoy and have a wonderful weekend!
