Devil's Canyon Arizona

We began this trail early on New Years Day. So early that there was still ice and snow on the path. Kinda scary since we were driving over rocks, along ledges, up and down hills.

I love the dichotomy of this setting, ice and desert cactus...

An ice covered pond. You don't see this very often just an hour east of Phoenix.

There were many of these amazing monoliths. I didn't get a lot of pictures during this section since it was very icy and snowy and I wasn't ready to end up picking myself up off the ground.

One of the scarier obstacles since the path had ice and was very off camber.

Amazing brook flowing and ice

What do you see in this rock formation?

The end of the trail and soon back to civilization!
Devil's Canyon is an off roading trail just outside of Globe. If you take the trail plan to spend at least six hours on the trail.

you're so interesting! on the one hand you go and do these wildly adventurous physical things, and then on the other you come to your beautiful world of gentle needle and thread.
clearly, you are fueling your needs!

LOL...yes that is a dichotomy as well isn't it? We really love visiting that backroad areas and I love taking pictures. Plus, the people we go with are so much fun!

Great photos. I saw a turtle, or- it could be male and female humans.
