Tatting is not a Lost Art Challenge!

I love tatting, but I generally don't do any since it takes a while (at least for me) to get any sizable piece accomplished. So when TotusMel offered a challenge that involved her making the tatted piece and selling it in her shop, so that we could make something creative with it --I thought, "I'm in." I've had this piece for a month and a half and until today I didn't have a chance to do anything with it. You know how vacations just get in the way of things! I imagined how I would work this into a cuff...So here it is....and, visit the flickr page and see all of the other creative pieces that were made with this tatted rosette!

Did you find El Rico's? If so, did you like it? We are going to try a different restaurant tomorrow out there. Any suggestions?

Goodness I did think tatting was a thing of the past as I haven't seen it done since the 60's and very little then.

It is so beautiful I do hope it becomes popular again. What a lovely rosette.

That is one gorgeous cuff! Love the strong color combo you worked with!

Sounds like that was a really fun challenge! I'll have to go take a look over at flickr.

Glad you had a great vacation in Colorado! Did I read that right ... you were struck by lightening last year there?? whoa! Glad you were OK. I'd stay in the car too :) That picture of the dilapidated mining building is really atmospheric. Those old cities up there definitely look eerie and haunted.

what a gorgeous piece. I love the way the white embroidery looks like a wispy fringe on the tatting.
