Tangled Threads

This was the beginning of my creative process over the last two days. A paper plate and various threads that I hand dyed. I have some new cuffs in my shop and am listing more each day! Most are created with vintage fabrics, trim and buttons. Hope you take a peek!

Phoenix Home Architecture 1960s

I was out last week, had my camera and came across a community with some interesting home architecture. I believe these homes were built in the 1960s...if anyone else knows for sure, let me know. The first house, as I was finishing taking pictures a gentleman came to the window and began waving...now the question is was he being friendly, or was he waving me away and didn't want me to take a picture...I didn't stop to ask.

Pepsi "Throwback" Soda

When I was a kid and growing up there was never soda/pop in the house. I drank a lot of kool-aid. The only time we had pop was in the summer when we went on picnic's. Then the choices were orange, grape, or rootbeer. I don't think I drank a cola until I was about 14. I'm not sure what my parents thoughts were about pop, but they probably figured out that it wasn't good for you even back then.

The choices in cola's were Pepsi, Coke, or RC Cola. I love Pepsi, but for the last few years I have rarely drank soda. I was grocery shopping today...the juices happen to be in the soda aisle. As I glanced at the soda choices the old retro Pepsi colors were right there staring back at me. Felt like I was in a time warp. Stamped on the carton was Throwback. The only thing missing was the swirly, glass bottle.

Well that "throwback" is soooo much better then the high fructose version. It tastes like the Pepsi I first drank when I was a teenager. Throwback is a "limited time product." Pepsi why don't you keep the sugar version? I think most people would enjoy it a lot more. Overall soda isn't good for us, but for an occasional treat it would be nice to have a bit healthier choice.

I visited the Pepsi site to find out more information and found the link to PepsiRefreshProject...very cool! Pepsi is giving away funds to support great ideas. You can vote for your favorite!
