Jeep Dog in Arizona

We were driving to Sedona and I spotted this dog in a jeep. When I first saw him I couldn't figure out how he could stay up on that ledge. After a closer look at the jeep there was a bar that he braced himself against. We were behind this jeep for about 10 miles. We spotted them parked at a restaurant....hopefully the doggie gets a treat too!

Thursday

Writer's Block

I had a bit of writer's block for a couple of weeks. I think summer pool time is distracting my thoughts. I love to swim and was so anxious to jump into the pool. The water is finally warm enough...yay!

We were in Sedona last week and you never know what you are going to see...like this rooster. He's probably 8ft tall...thankfully he doesn't crow!

Monday

Red Rocks of Sedona Arizona and Camping

We took our new roof top tent for a spin last weekend. I was a little worried about sleeping on top of our FJ, but less worried then sleeping on the ground with all of the threatening critters. We went off-roading on Broken Arrow first and had a great time...with a lot of great people. Then we went and had Mexican Food at Javelina Cantina...then we drove to our campsite and set up our tent. It took about 25 minutes. I imagine it won't take much more then 15 minutes the next time. It's so easy to just unfold your tent, drop the ladder, and open the windows. This roof top tent is available from CampingLabs.com. The mattress is very comfy. However, I'm going to transform a pillow top mattress cover to fit over top of the mattress that comes with the tent. Then it will be perfect! The weather was wonderful --it did get a bit chilly that night....about 40 degrees, but we had quilts and blankets so it was snuggly warm.

Enjoy!

Arizona Beauty

The top two pictures were taken from my house this week. A storm was approaching and we spotted a rainbow which actually went across the entire horizon. But, the lens I had on my camera couldn't capture it. The second picture is sunset the same evening looking to the west. The final three pictures were taken in Sedona, AZ as storms came and went. Everything was so beautiful and I snapped tons of pictures. The picture of the sky, just above the rock formation is amazing. About 10 years ago I purchased, and still have a little left, of a fabric with the same colors and with just about the same pattern. It was in a collection of fabric representing Arizona.
