Around the House

Doesn't she look sweet? She was in her sleepy mode. Actually you can do just about anything to her and she is very patient. We've dressed her up, put socks on her paws, never tries to remove anything. But, when she doesn't want to do something she is the most stubborn dog I have ever had. She'll be six this year and is getting white fur around her eyes, must be a sign of aging in Brittanies. The next one, below can intimidate her with just a look....

And Rylie. Well he is a stinker. He has two cookies in the first picture, the one in his mouth is actually Frannies. Now if you offer him that initially he doesn't want it...that's why the other cookie is there, that's the one he wanted. Notice he hasn't even chewed it. Frannie begins chewing hers, Rylie walks over and barks at her. She doesn't pay him any attention; however, she will eventually get tired of chewing and as soon as she does hawk Rylie swoops in (just like the hawk that flys above our house, below) and takes her cookie. She doesn't care....but doesn't he look like, "what? me? she gave it to me mom......

How Does Your Garden Grow

These are my "how does your garden grow" hand embroidered coasters. I was so busy during the holiday that I forgot to post. These are part of the reason I was so busy! They are made with linen and are my own design. It's been fun making each set...since each garden is different!

Monday

Featured Indie Simphoni

Was so surprised and happy to see my new How Does Your Garden Grow coasters featured on Indie Simphoni...

Saturday

Devil's Canyon Arizona

We began this trail early on New Years Day. So early that there was still ice and snow on the path. Kinda scary since we were driving over rocks, along ledges, up and down hills.

I love the dichotomy of this setting, ice and desert cactus...

An ice covered pond. You don't see this very often just an hour east of Phoenix.

There were many of these amazing monoliths. I didn't get a lot of pictures during this section since it was very icy and snowy and I wasn't ready to end up picking myself up off the ground.

One of the scarier obstacles since the path had ice and was very off camber.

Amazing brook flowing and ice

What do you see in this rock formation?

The end of the trail and soon back to civilization!
Devil's Canyon is an off roading trail just outside of Globe. If you take the trail plan to spend at least six hours on the trail.

Wednesday

Mysterioius Explorations of Jasper Morello

I watched this a few weeks ago and I think this is what got me thinking about doing the embroidery of the Steam Engine man and to create an "invention series" of embroidery.

Monday

Steam Engine Man A New Embroidery Series

Do you love mechanical inventions?

Do you love the 1800s?

Do you love embroidery?

I can say yes to all three of these questions. That's why I did some research to come up with a new embroidery series to entertain me and you. This is Steam Engine Man...a patent submitted to the USPTO in the late 1800s. Can you imagine seeing this trotting down the boulevard? He kind of reminds me of the tin man from the Wizard of Oz, but with steam and a pipe!

Wait until you see the next one....more fun and experimenting ensues!
