Arizona Fires

So early in the fire season and so many fires already. Over 400,00 acres burned, just in the Wallow Fire so far.

If you are traveling/camping in Arizona please make sure you extinguish camp fires and don't throw lit cigarettes onto the ground or highway. If you off-road make sure you are not driving over dry grass/weeds.

Keep safe!

Rose, thanks for reminding everyone that 'only you can prevent forest fires.' We have been literally living through a hell here in the Chiricahua Mountains. We have lost so much beautiful landscape and wonderful wildlife. David is a volunteer firefighter and they (the forest service) have him working 15 hour days. Hope you are well. debbie

I have thinking about you guys a lot. The fire down there has lasted such a long time and I know that it must be devastating. Hugs to both of you and take care!

Terrifying to think how easily fires can start. My father in law likes to sit outside on our patio smoking his pipe. One spark, and the house could go up in flames, so I've asked him not to, for now. Dreaming of the monsoon rains....

Wow! The fires are scary to say the least. I remember the fires in Georgia apprx. 4-5 yrs ago. The suffocating smoke reached Atlanta-though the fires were about fifty miles away.
