Echinopsis Eyresii Night Blooming Cactus

I was out yesterday and came across this flowering cactus. Not only is it beautiful its fragrance is amazing. You generally do not get to see them in the daylight, since they bloom at night and wilt with daylight, but this one really wanted to show off!

Absolutely beautiful! We had night blooming cacti in Florida that were a bluish shade, as I remember. We used to go out at midnight to see them bloom. Thanks for reminding me of that.

Fabulous pictures. I've been to AZ a couple of times, but apparently not at the right time to see these beauties.

How did you end up there int he desert, have you retired there? Tired of the snow? If so, you sure picked the right year to make your move.

we have had this cactus growing in the backyard for many years and the other day I was walking through the yard and there it was a flower in full bloom (1:30 a.m.)and was such a beautiful flower so I went to see if it smelled (OMFG)!!!!! that was one of most beautiful smelling flowers I have ever smelled!!! My exgirlfriend was a big rose fanatic and in our back yard in Hawaii she had over 80 different rose bushes... and maybe one or two roses had a run at this beauty!!! really is a treat to smell and experience!!!
